Description

The so-called Celtic princely seats of the early Iron Age, including Glauberg, were the focus of settlement research for a long time. Their importance as centers of power, trade, crafts and cult seemed clear. In recent years, more recent research has been able to break down this supposedly homogeneous picture and show that the various complexes are significantly less uniform, and that their prominent position in the settlement structure of the early Iron Age sometimes had different causes. However, they all led to an excess of meaning that made it likely that some kind of rule would be assumed in their place.
