Description

Cup of the form Dragendorff 30. In the center of the shard there is a female figure in a robe turned to the right, above which the remains of a bearded head looking to the left can be seen. Pearl rods are arranged as decoration on both sides of the figure.

The combination of these hallmarks (stamped image motifs) is attributed to the potter Comitialis V from Rheinzabern (South Palatinate). In addition to Rheinzabern, the robed figure is also known from the pottery of Blickweiler (Saarpfalz district) and is associated there with the so-called Potter of large figures attributed.
